ABOUT ME

I am somebody who cares deeply about the well-being of this world and the people in it. I am happiest when I'm close to the ocean, connecting with the people I love, having my mind blast open, creating something magnificent, playing in a dynamic sports team, organizing a space, or eating Ben & Jerry's 'New York Super Fudge Chunk' ice cream. I have never done all of this at one time but now it's written, it's become a goal.
I believe that every human being is whole, is creative, and has the potential to contribute greatly. I believe that people need connection and unconditional acceptance to flourish and to heal. I believe that every person has value and can find meaning. I believe that limitations can be shed, that resilience is beyond imagination, that people can find peace and integration within and between themselves, that a sense of profound gratitude is a key to success, and that it is important to stand up for injustices and inequalities. I believe in the power of women, in the compassion of men, in the hope and wonder of children, and in the beauty of all those who cannot or will not be classified.
I hold a BA in Psychology & Education from the University of Auckland and an MA in Art Therapy from New York University. I gained my Registration and Board-Certification with the Art Therapy Credentials Board, and worked for 5 years as a contracted art therapist. After that, I focused on raising my children and making meaningful art for people, followed by a career shift into Organizational Development/Human Resources/Change Leadership. I am committed to working truthfully, ethically, with cultural competence and integrity.
